Im hoping you can all give me more inspiration. I am 28 and from 1999 I spent 8 years overseas in Spain, Canary Islands etc with my job. I am now home and have found myself sick of the mundane lifestyle!! No one wants to do anything different and things never change. I plan to go travel a bit then get a job in Oz. Is there anyone going to do the same on their own?? I am so used to having lots of friends around me its all a bit daunting!!! Hoping to go in June.
I am currently in Lecturing and Training and wondered if anyone knew the best places to contact???
Thanks
Kxxx

Hi, thanks for your encouragement. How old is she?? Did she go out on her own?? If my mate wanted to go for the yr id be well up for it its just the prospect of going alone eh!!?? Where is your niece?
Hi Kerry, I loved oz when i travelled the east coast a few years back so now ive decided to take the plunge and move to Perth (hopefully in Feb) with a friend, were both 26, so if you come over that way at all, let us know and we can go out!
Your apprehension is perfectly normal but seriously, you'll meet so many like minded people of similar age and circumstances that you'll wonder what all the worry was about. I'm not an expat as such, more a general drifter but have been here in Australia for around ten months now and it's definitely one of the most easiest countries to travel and meet people, too easy in fact. Just go with an open mind and an open attitude and soon enough you won't be able to stop grinning.
Yeah I went alone, actually I left England back in 2004, though I went to New Zealand first. I've only been in Australia 9mths so far travelling around by motorbike. I did do a bit of work in outback Western Australia then moved on to Melbourne. There's plenty of work available, definitely nothing to worry about.
