Workforce - Sponsor route

Hi,

We have been discussing going down under for a few months but put our thoughts on hold whilst our baby was born, he has now arrived and discussions are very much ongoing.

We went to one of the emigrate shows at York race course back in september and at the time our planned route would be the skilled visa as my hubby is an electrician, we had heard about the new vettassess way of doing things and the cost involved. While we were there we stopped at a stand run by WORKFORCE who offered to us the employment sponsorship route where they sponsor us and our visa would be valid for 4 years and if at the end of the 4 years we wanted to stay we could return home and apply again for the same visa or prior to it running out we could apply for the permanent residency visa - ie skilled visa route. This threw us a bit as we are now unsure which route to take.

My hubby would still have to take the test that is eing held in the UK now along side getting this visa but it still is alot cheaper way of getting there initially.

Just wondering if anyone has any more info of doing it this way or about WORKFORCE who we spoke to.

Thanks in Advance

Rhys and new arrival Haydn
Not forgetting Ozzie (dog)

hi

just noted you had some advice from workforce. well me and my husband went to an expo in Coventry about 2 months ago and I was bombarded with offers of employment as I'm a midwife and they have a big shortage of midwives. We spoke to a very nice lady who was desparate for me to fill in the forms. We also met a very nice man called Richard who promised that he could get my husband a job no problem (hes a carpenter) additionally told us he could even get my son an apprenticeship. Lots of promises. Well we e mailed him about 2 days later - no reply. Additionally at the time of the expo we did ask what workforce actually get out of it and he was very evasive.

IVE BEEN LUCKY TO HAVE GOT MY OWN JOB OFFER WITH A HOSPITAL wORKFORCE CLAIMED TO WORK FOR when I asked the people who interviewed me they had never heard of this company. A few days after I had my interview workforce got in touch with me, wanting me to forward my details etc. I was offered the job and sponsorship by the hospital therefore I saw no need to seek any further assistance with my career, however we were still interested with the promise they also made to find my husband work and my son, surprise surprise sent 3 emails and not one reply.

So be careful, hope you find someone who has had a good experience.

As a family we would prefer a perm residency visa but a big hospital like the one in Brisbane must be quite good and genuine so think we are going on a 457 visa you can get one in 12 weeks whereas we have been told upto 12months for a skilled visa.

hope this helps a little

If you can go using the skilled route without getting an employer sponsership
then do it that way.

I no it is more expensive and takes longer but you are not as restricted as with
other visa's mine took longer than 12 months.

Thankyou, Funny you say that as I have e.mailed him (richard) and we have had no reply - at the expo we mentioned my mum to him she is a care worker but is 49 so didn't think she could get out to oz to work and thought she may have to go the parent visa route as my sister is also out there - i mentioned to him we were looking at perm residency so she could apply for parent visa and he said he would sponsor her also as a care worker regardless of her age. However when i e.mailed to say we were putting ours on hold until the baby was born but please could he give us more details about how mum could get out there he hasn't contacted us.

Think a bit more research is in order.
Any help is much appreciated

Hi there welcome to PIO, yes we were at the same show, and also spoke to RICHARD made all the same promises didnt matter OH wasn't skilled, couldn't believe what I was hearing, but being desprate to get out there WE believed him, so off went OH CV, both OH and myself are not major qualified in anything specific, though OH has been in the same job a while and is now at managment level, so we thought this would be perfect oppurtunity, have had one email from them requesting CV, OH has phoned twice spoke to R directly, only to be left feeling very fobbed off ten weeks on can you blame him,not sure what we will do now, though have sent OH CV off to a few companys had replies back, but nothing positve YET, we live in hope.
If I can help any Further you can PM me, chin up love, Theresa.

Hi

Personally I would go the skilled route & stay away from agencys. Hubbys skills are on the skills list so once you have the perm visa he will get a job no problem at all. We came on a 457 but was the only way we could get in due to hubbys age & are now applying for PR. We used a agency who were absolutley brilliant as we had to get a sponsor before we could get the visa. But we had 3 employers let OH down at the last minute so all in all it took us 9 months to find a sponsor so whats another couple of months for perm. I know the skilled is a longer route but worth it in the end. If you were to come on a 457 you still need to pay for the perm visa once here so might not work out as cheap in the long run. But I can understand how people want to get here quicker. Hope this helps.

Janette

Thumbs up Richard Workforce replying

I'm having a large number of enquiries, and we genuinely always try to reply quickly. If there are any of you that are concerned that you have fallen through the net, then please e-mail richardt@workforcesolutions.com.au

I have started up our own thread on here, where we can answer your general questions (hopefully correctly), although if you need to speak to me directly please give me a call.

Hopefully everyone who is currently processing with us finds us helpful, but please tell us if you think otherwise

Kind Regards,

Richard

Hi there, I know this thread is a few months old, but we are wondering if OH's occupation would come under 'supply and distribution manager' His title is Contracts Supervisor, but he works in a small branch office for a local freight logistics firm, overseeing the stuff that goes out and where it goes. He is in charge of 2 clerks. I am waiting for him to speak to his HR dept to get clarifiction.....I've seen loads of jobs on the careers websites that he could do with his eyes closed!!! Just a matter of getting an offer!

I hope you have sorted everything out and are well on your way...

Emma
