Hi all, we are hoping to be in sydney around March i have a job all lined up and we are currently going through 457 Visa process. The OTH is a Domicillary Care Supervisor (Home care for elderly and terminally ill people), is there a call for Homecare in Oz, she is not looking to work straight away but after we have settled would like to work in the Care buisness again.
Hi Adam I Am Also In Elderly Care ... There Are Numerous Jobs For Home Carers And Residential Care In Perth [where We Are Going ] I Presume It Will Be The Same All Over . Lynne [ As In ..lynneandtony] Has Just Secured Herself Sponsorship To Sydney As A Carer. She Leaves Soon But Im Sure If You Were To Pm Her She Would Give You Some Advice . Good Luck

Hi Adam, yes they are crying out for carers in Oz specially Sydney so she will get one without a doubt as when i was ringing round loads of companies to find a sponsor, those who dont sponsor kept saying that if and when i get to oz to call in and see them and they would probably no doubt have work for me, that was from most of the companies so she will get a job without a doubt, so long as she has a CV with all her qualification and work experiences on. Good Luck with the future, i fly to Sydney on 15th December 07 and Tony and kids follow on 15th January 08 as i am on a 457 sponsor and need to go first to get started up work.

Thanks for that Lynne, I noticed in your post that you are going out a month before your family is this a requirement for the 457 visa as this is the visa we are going out on and nobody has mentioned this to us.
No Sue this isnt a requirement, the only reason i am going first is because i only had to give 1 weeks notice so i am going to go and get bank etc set up for my wages going in etc and get started work but Tony has to work 1 months notice with his job xxxx
I am going to go and get everything sorted before he comes out like a rental property car etc so that we are not paying more money out for all off us to go into temp accommodation until getting a rental so we prefer to do it this way

I think you are an amazing partner to go out by yourself, sort everything out and be alone for Christmas (or is this a self serving scheme not to have to do the journey with the kids....I know I'd be tempted!)
