Angry Hairdresser

Now a days the requirements are change for the hairdressers assessment .now they need a formal training letter plus 5 year of traineeship plus a OGT course.
becase pathway D is eliminated
even 17 year of practical work is not enough without these requirements.

Hi All, everyone seems to have dif knowledge of what you need. I did my TRA earlier this year and passed ok and have since got our visas. I have NVQ level two which was fine, My apprentership and several years after were done with Toni & Guy and for the best part of the last ten years ive been self employed. The only thing i needed for proof of NVQ was sertified copies of them. I then had to have a very detailed reference from Toni & Guy wich they (T&G) agreed to let me write myself as the detail of every thing you do from sweeping floors to what hair cuts you can do have to be in it. I also had to write my own ref in even more detail including a step by step desciption of every cut, colour , blow dry, hair up, you name it they whant to know how you do it, even the depth, angles , elevation, is it club cut ,point cut, sliced , back cut etc, etc. I had to have sertified copies of all of these and then had to make a sorn declaration to. On top of this you have to of been working full time for twelve of the last 18 months pria to aplying for your TRA although im not sure how many years you need to have been qualified, i suspect the other guys are right when they say its years but dont give up you never know until you ask. I think an agent would be the best person to speak to but if you have any questions then PM me and i will help any way i can. It sounds a lot of work but get it right and you should only have to do it once. Good luck.
John.
