Jobs - How?

Hi guys hope you can shed some light on this but how do you get or apply for jobs before you get your visa. Have seen many jobs we can go for especially with our STNI for Victoria but can't apply as we're not able to work or have residency, any anawers to very confused

We applied for jobs before we got our visa, hubby got a response saying sorry but they wanted to fill the post right away, but they liked his CV and could they keep it on file. A couple of months later he got an email asking where he was upto with the visa (we'd got it by then and had booked flights), he had a telephone interview and started work within 2 weeks of arriving in Oz.
