Any info on dock workers

Hello im John and new to this site. I work on a container terminal in England, i operate a gantry crane unloading container ships, i also load and un load containers from road traffic. We plan to move to Perth around may time next year, but cant for the life of me find out what kind of money i could earn on the docks should i get a job. Could any one please help as im not having much luck finding any info at the moment Any info would be greatfully recieved

Not sure what it's like now............. but it used to be pretty much a closed shop? Jobs for the boys and all that.......... FBI............ friends........ brothers........ and in-laws. Hard yakka granted.......... but heaps of perks.......... much sought after job down on the docks.

If you can get on............ you've cracked it. Our kid is a crane driver up the mines now..... it's big bikkies.

The wharfies are a type of protected species.............. they have a real good union looking after there welfare. Google maritime union WA and it may throw something up?
