Roofer's any info

Hi is anyone aware of how the industry is for roofers, my partner is a roofer and we are looking to move to Oz possibly Brisbane and was hoping someone out there might have some info.... I am myself a Personal Assistant in the Police but can also do the girlie things like manicurist and nail technician plus hairdressing..

would love to hear from someone...

Could help you with a TRA, but as with areas an whats going on in OZ work wise, i hav'nt looked into that yet, as not sure it's worth it, (my point of view)before you get the golden ticket to go, cos as your OH will probably tell you, any construction type work goes up an down whatever country your in.

There are a few roofers on here, well 3 or 4, whats his age, if you need more just ask, chat again soon.

I have no idea - sheeting and cladding does that ring a bell ?? he also has a scissor lift and cherry picker licence makes no sense to me I never realised there were different kinds of roofers until the other day....

Yep lots of different skills as a roofer. Sheeting and cladding would be useful in Oz as lots of sheet metal roofs out there!!

The first thing your oh will have to do is get his skills recognised in order to apply for the visa(tra). Someone will tell you how to go about that. Also it's worth looking at the occupation in demand list on the dept of immigration website to see if his occupation is listed, if it is, you get more points. Many say the tra process is the hardest bit but there are plenty of people on here who have been through or going through it. You can also do a search of old threads for tra it's come up heaps of times.
