There's Boeing based at Amberley nr Ipswitch, Ball Aerospace somewhere in Brizzy, a helicopter mob near the airport and there will be others. A web search should get you some better data.

Hi Phil69.
How far are you with application. Have you done your TRA yet and why have you decided on Brissie. I ask a lot of questions but guess what, OH works at Broughton and we are starting the process. Which section do you work in?

hi debs sent off TRA 21/09/07 still waiting to hear something, want to live on the coast over there, as near to the beach as poss, my OH has an aunty in oz and she says coastal properties in queensland are cheaper than in NSW, and queensland has the best climate, rarely drops below 20oc.
I work in the buckley airbus factory on the hawker. Have you sent off your TRA yet?
phil

Hi Phil69
OH is getting together info for TRA. May I ask what exactly did you put in the TRA. Any help will be great. Also OH has to take IELTS test next week as need to gain extra points as otherside of 40. Tony is a team leader at Broughton. We are just going to take one step at a time. Do you have children. Ours are 15 and 11 and my greatest worry is my eldest as he will have completed GCSEs and apparently they don,t mean anything in OZ. So schooling is a major issue. I also keep looking at Brisbane and also Adelaide.

HI Debs, when i filled in TRA form i concentrated on my core skill fitting experience which came under engineering - structures/mechanics. tell your oh to give them as much info as poss as to his experience in his core job including apprenticeship details and/or relative further training. We don't have any children, just two dogs. sent TRA off on 21st september, received letter from TRA on 13th october to confirm they'd received form, won't know if i've passed for another ten days or so. will keep you posted.
good luck

Thanks for info Phil.
I'll tell Tony and hey if he gets stuck i'll get him to contact you. By the way he works at Hawker fuselage. Good luck with TRA. Have you used an agent or going it alone. We are thinking of the later.
