A client of mine arrived here in Perth 7 weeks ago from Lancashire......... spent 2 weeks in holiday accommodation............. sorted out and moved into a 3 month rental property near the beach.......... got one of her daughters a job in Admin/Receptionist work........ got the other daughter enrolled in school.
They didn't know anyone in Australia............ I revamped her husband's CV to suit local Australian conditions............ he quickly enrolled in the required Construction O & H Safety programme.......... obtained the required site ticket........ and he is now earning $3,000-00 a week in his hand doing 'bush work' up in Geraldton for a company that specialises in water utilities. Only snag to this job is the husband does fly-in fly out................. ie he spends several weeks away from home with his job. Might not suit everyone.............. but............ if you are prepared to give it a go........ opportunities galore down-under as long as you don't constantly whinge!
