Team Leader

Hi All,

I have sent my CV to numerous companies in OZ asking about positions and company sponsorship, but so far I have had no luck, does anyone know whether team leaders can be sponsored by companies to move out to Oz??
My wife is a PA/Executive Secretary if this can be sponsored as well??
We do not quite have enough points to qualify for a permanent visa due to the fact neither of us has a degree, so were hoping to find company sponsorship.
If it is unlikely that we can find company sponsorship then i suppose we would have to look at retraining or forget the dream
Any help greatly received

Thanks Desperate in Crewe

They may not recruit into team leader positions for some companies they may be promotional positions. There is a recent thread about sponsorship - have a look at that. Pastmac was saying that when he was emailing companies from the UK they didn't reply and he thought that this was because they get innundated with people testing the water. He made a 3 week trip to Oz and visited companies (some of who had not replied to his email) and has had job offers and now has the chance of a PR visa rather than a temporary one. He won't mind if you PM him.

Hi,

I was sponsored by my current employer, however that was after working for them during a working holiday. I am now the HR manager for the business and I constantly receieve emails via our website asking for work and sponsorship and to be brutally honest unless it is a job with a skill shortage in our areas then we dont offer sponsorship, we currently have 3 guys going through the sponsorship process but they are actually in Australia at the moment whilst we wait and we decided we would like to keep them on if possible after they proved to be great workers during their Working Holidays to Australia.

If I post adverts and recieve good candidates from overseas who dont have a work visa I usually dont consider them especially if have good local candidates of course or otherwise good candidates with work visas and aprox arrival in Aus dates.

As far as Sales Team Leader jobs we have a call centre as well but we have never had a need to look overseas as there are always a lot of local candidates who apply so that may be why you dont hear back from jobs you have been applying to. I do know there is a company in Aus called Freespirit who acts as a recruitment company and also offers sponsorship packages, so you may find more success contacting them or at least someone like that to point you in the right direction to try and get a business sponsorship.

Hope my personal insight is of some assistance though of course I am certainly no expert on such things.

Regards
Gem

thanks

Thanks guys for the info and help, don't get me wrong 90% of the companies I have emailed have replied I have been offered 3 jobs providing I can obtain a visa but without sponsorship I can't get a visa so it's like a catch 22 situation!
I will keep on trying and use the advice you have given me
Thanks Again
