Setting up your own Business
We are planning to move to Melbourne in March 2008 and want to set up our own business. Can anyone tell me if you can move to Australia and set up a business straight away or is there any rules in which you have to wait and live there for a certain time period (reason I am asking is that someone told us that you have to wait and cant set up straight away????)

Would be grateful if anyone can answer this for us.

If you hold a permanent residency visa you can start a new business as soon as you arrive - assuming you have arranged all the required business registrations of course.
If you'd like an intro to an accountant to discuss this in more details please send me an email.
Best regards.
