Overtime and Super

Hi

I don't get paid any super on the overtime I work which I was led to believe was normal but now someone at work reckons some company's do pay it. So does anyone get paid super on the overtime they work ?

You used to, but the law changed in 2003 following a court case. I would say a nice employer does and an ordinary one doesn't. The ATO do keep an eye on how much super is paid by a company against the salary it pays and if there is a discrepancy they ask why, so if it is a reasonably sized company you would have expected that the ATO would have been in contact if the figures didn't add up.
