Electricians

Hi
Me and hubbie are applying for our 136 independant visa, he is an electrician. We know all about the licensing when we get there, was wondering if any one could give us an idea if there is plenty of work for electricians, if its easy to get a job and approx how much they earn

Thankyou

Sam

Hi Sam

Sorry I can't answer your question as we're not there yet  but just wanted to welcome you to the site and say that my hubby is a sparky too so we'll be in the same boat re. licensing etc when the time comes.

All the best.

Karen :)

fatpom will become famous soon enough
There's plenty of work for sparkies at the moment. Finding a job should be easy once your license is granted.
Earnings are boosted by the mining boom at the moment. Sparkies earn more than most other tradesmen. The rate you would earn would depend on many things such as self employed versus employee, experience in Australia, location in Aus & industry sector.
You're unlikely to get top rates to start with but over time you probably will & currently its good times for sparkies & tradesmen generally.

Hi
Interested reading your bit about sparkies. My OH sparky and we passed TRA OK as he has over 25 years experience. However, this don't count for much apparently as he still has to get a licence in Oz. We are hoping we can achieve this before we go but not sure yet what we will need to do. Currently investigating!

My Hubby electrician too. How far are you down the line - any visa yet?
