Hi,

I am a Commercial Prop lawyer and am looking to move to Brisbane next May-July via the sponsorship route if I can get a job! I have used and met in London a recruitment consultant called Kim Malone who is an ex lawyer who spealises in the Brisbane area. Her website is Legal Recruitment Brisbane | Legal Staff | Kim Malone & Associates Recruitment and I would highly recommend her.

I have had my qualifications assessed through NSW law society as I was told this was easier and as I am 6 years pqe I have to sit 2 exams.

Please contact me if you have any further questions.

Kind regards

Hi this thread is a bit old but hopefully still valid!
I am a 10yr qualified property lawyer got my visa in 2005 but couldn't get here for personal reasons til Jan 08 (Gold Coast). Back in 2005 I could come here and work straight away but now I am told I have to requalify at a cost of c$60K and 18 months full time study!!!! Had my qualifications / work experience assessed by both Bond and Griffith Universities Gold Coast and am totally stunned!
What has been your experience? Have you found work? If so, how? Where?
Hope to get some encouraging news from somewhere soon!!
Richard
