I know a lot of Aussies that are trying to get a start on the Gorgon project and it's proving difficult, even for qualified tradies. Might be easier to apply from the UK by the looks of it. Heard about this job through a friend who is working there - seems to be that it's not what you know here but who you know. We had contacts for mining jobs whilst we were still in the UK but they were only looking for people on sponsored visas and by that point we had got our independent visas.
