      why are the harvest so late

      hey all i have left perth and driven all over WA looking for harvest work and there is almost nothing about and what is about they want 2-3yrs experience for how are we expected to get 2nd yr if we cant find the work or even just some1 to sign me off for the work would be good

      only thing i can think of is ...its winter in wa ...so probs not much harvesting goin on ....u could try bar work or doing cooking on a farm ....im sure these are also included in the 2nd year as long as its rural .....would not chance just gettin someone to sign u off as it being done ....friend of ours done that and was caught .....resulting in 3 yr ban from entering oz !! ...so not a good idea ...good luck with finding something

      Traditional harvest times are summer/autumn - so December through May.

      However, have you been right up north? Tropical areas have different seasons altogether.

      At this time of year around Kununurra and Broome there would be harvesting of water melons, rockmelons, vegies, tomatoes, bananas.

      am in kununurra at the min and broome does not count towards regional work all th seasons are so delayed its annoying

      Are they saying why the seasons are delayed up north?
