Hi,
I am from, and working in the UK at the moment as a safety advisor for the London underground (Night time engineering works) and fancy a change and as I have family who have been in Perth for over twenty years, Australia seems a perfect location.
I am 26 and hold the Nebosh general/construction/fire by means of qualifications - and NVQ2 trowel occupations (good old brickwork!)
What I'd like to do is relocate to Australia and find a safety based job - the theory’s there but can anyone advise me on the practically of actually achieving this?
I have been told that the mining industry is good place to start but I’m afraid that even though I’ve spent the best part of 6 years down dark dingy tunnels courtesy of the London underground it would probably be fairly difficult to dress it up as a transferable environment + conditions in relation to the mining game, much railway based work in Australia?
I would appreciate a nudge in the right direction.
Charlie
