      AHPRA Registration

      I'm still confused...!!
AHPRA covers the whole of Australia and yet you have to send the application specificaly to one state/territory?? At the moment we have not decided for sure which state we want to move to and have been keeping options open by looking at jobs in SA, Qld, WA and NSW!!! So what should I do about AHPRA registration?? Is there any way of applying for a nationwide registration or will I have to submit individual applications to each state!? I hope not!

Hi, don't worry it's simple. You can send the application to any AHPRA office (avoid Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra as these offices are taking ages) and you will receive eligibility email once your application has been processed. Then you have to visit any of the AHPRA office (not necessay the office you sent the application) in person within one year from the date of the eligibility email with your id proof, police clearance and job offer to complete the registration process. Once registered you are free to work any where in Australia.

      Hope that helps.

Avoid Brisbane too they take ages apparently (I've sent mine there!). I was told to send it to one of the smaller offices as they are lots quicker.

Hey Guys i recieved my AHPRA eligibility letter back in april last year from the perth office where i had the job offer at the time (no longer applicable) , i am off next week to sydney to stay with a friend and sightsee for a month and am planning on presenting at the sydney office to complete my registration process, i wrote to AHPRA and the lady replied Thank you for your email.

You have until 20 April 2013 to present to an AHPRA office with supporting proof of identity documents. Typically applicants are required to present with at least one document from each category (see attached). If you have arrived to Australia within the six (6) weeks prior to presenting you may wish to refer to the exemptions on page three (3) of the attachment.

If presenting to the Sydney office please request for your documentation to be forwarded to me in the Perth office. That way I can finalise your application.

from this email i am unsure wheter she means all my documents i.e. passprt driving lisence etc etc will need to be sent to perth for her to see, as this is definately not practical in the time limit i am in Oz , or if surely an AHPRA worker in Sydney can just clarify i am me and give perth the heads up to process my registration. Please can anyone shed any light as i am stressing out now! thank you
