Marks and Spencer!

Hi there, my husband has just been offered a job in Newcastle, so it looks like we will be moving as soon as can be arranged. My question is - What on earth do you do without good ol' M&S?!!! I saw that people were talking about stocking up on things like bedding, are there good places in Oz or is it really a good idea to stock up first?
Thanks!
Sandra

Its an idea to stock up on bedding and clothes before you come ,more than anything it gives you time to look around at shops and see whats what.I think its quite normal to 'miss' things when you first arrive but the more you settle ,the more you find replacements and stop worrying about the shops you left.

Hi We have been here for 6 months. I have an account with M&S get the stuff posted to my sister and she sends it over. Well worth it. Much better quality than anything I seen here even Myers etc. I recently purchased 10 pairs of boys school trousers (navy). The school wanted $95 per pair! I managed to get them for £8 per pair plus one free for every 2 purchased so a bargain. You just cannot tell the difference to the school uniform.

Underwear much better and I know what size trousers I am size 10 short! I cannot buy anything here without going to the trouble of having them taken up! good luck.

What a top tip! M&S trousers are the only ones that fit my skinny boys, although I do tend to stick them in shorts as soon as the Easter hols are over here, knees mend better that trousers!

I agree, you can't beat M&S and I still miss it, 2 and a half yrs later. Mum's coming over soon and I gave her a list for M&S before she came! There no underwear like M&S's!

Oh forgot to say as well - I'm wearing out the clothes I came with because I can't find that one shop where you just love all thier clothes - like Next, or River Island, Principles or Debenhams - Myer and David Jones juts aren't the same....:-( - and Australian fashion is strange.....:)
