Vegetarian food in Australia

When I've been to Australia before I had a hard time finding vegetarian food. I know Coles and Woolworths sell some from Sanitarium but that tastes a bit like rubber and isn't that nice. Does anyone know if there are other vegetarian brands over there such as Quorn? I know Aus is big on meat but you'd think they would have some vegetarian stuff! Even some made up veggie things like veggies in sauce i found to not be vegetarian!!!

If there isn't anything apart from that Sanitarium stuff does anyone know if Quorn or Linda McCartney stuff can be bought online and shipped to Aus?

No Linda McCartney. You can find quorn in health food shops and there are random other suppliers especially for things like tofu (various flavours). I think the number of vegie restaurants has decreased in the past 20 years but you will still find some around - we have a couple of very nice asian veg restaurants whereas we used to have 3 or 4 regular veg places. Most restaurants will have a veg option on the menu so they are at least getting a bit better in tune.
