Hi just some info some people may find helpful- I am going to be taking my two dogs over but having read all the posts from those who decide Oz is not for them I checked with DEFRA about what I would need to to do to ensure they could come back into the country if need be-I was told that once you export them there must be a 6 month lapse before they can come back in and I will need a pet passport-however this can be arranged with vets in OZ- they will also need the Rabies vaccination and a blood test 30 days afterwards before they can be imported back to the UK. Whilst you can get a passport in the uk before they go he suggested waiting until I get my girls to Oz as if they have additional vaccinations this could affect their screenings potentially.
