Having moved here (Gold Coast) end of January - I can fully recommend good, reliable and reasonable removals companies. We moved from the SW of England (Somerset) and used Mark Chudley International Shippers - they were superb. Their quote came in at the same price as Brittania - but we opted for them because we didnt get the smarmy sales approach - which Brittania came across with. Mark Chudley's are a family run, but internationally renowned removalist - they particularly specialise in antiques.
The boss - Mark - came to our house - and gave us an honest quote with no "spin". He was a friendly helpful and professional guy. The packing went smoothly - the guys came in a specialist wrapped all of our furniture. The company in Oz - is Conroys of Caboolture (Brisbane). Everything arrived safely - nothing missing - and only one glass photo frame broken. Incidently we shipped a 40ft container with everything in it - including old wooden furniture. We were recommended to have the container fumigated at dock - which was very worthwhile - it only cost just over £200, and prevented any fumigation in Oz - which costs a lot more - to individually fumigate items.
We were very worried about our lifelong belongs but they couldnt have been safer.
Excellent service - Chudleys - even made contact with us out of office hours regularly to check that everything was ok. Cant recommend them highly enough.
I think they serve the whole of the South Coast of England - but they may go further.

can I ask roughly how much it cost and how long it took please, need to start working out all the costs etc......!

We used Bishops Move in the UK and our stuff was contracted to Kent Movers here in Aus, I must say I could not fault them at either end, cost 2.5K all in (inc ins) + $250 customs charge, for 1/2 a 20ft container
