ladies only! pill advice

can't guess how many of the guys opened this thread!

ladies help needed...
landed 6 weeks ago and need to get my perscription again.
we are on a 457 so we have full medi cover with MBF..

were and how do i get it..

im assuming that i have to pay for it over here? or are there womens clininc etc????

anyone help?

im in melbourne.

Our daughter who is nearly 20yrs went to the doctors over here and got her she had to pay for them

You should be able to walk into a Dr and get him to do a prescription for you.Be warned they will not presribe the pill if you are over 35 and smoke! big no no!,Sharon is right you pay for it here and anyone on Cilest (pink box),they dont do it over here or a total match,think Microgynon was the nearest content wise.May be advisabel to change whilst in the uk until you get one that suits ,saves keep paying for different ones here.

Also if you are on marvelon in the UK it is still Marvelon here in Oz but it's the 28 day version. This totally confused me and took some reading of the instructions to work out what to do - still got it wrong tho! Durr!!!!

Cost $48 for 4 months. The doc gave me a prescription for 4 months plus 2 repeats! Can't believe it's nearly $150 for a year.

im on yasmin in the uk its not for contraception hubby had the snip after no2 arrived! its for acne due to hormonal imbalance.. the pill sorts me out

do they do yasmin here!

When I was on a working hol I just went to a doctor and told her I was on microgynon, she prescribed the generic version as it was cheaper and then I got some of the cost back through medicare. I was gutted as it was only 3 weeks before I went home where I could have got it free!

My lovely doc here prescribes me a year as I dont smoke and says people lose prescriptions all the time (wink wink) so I'm going to stock up before moving out there in Dec!

Lol,,stock up,,!! i brought 12 months supply lol, i just kept putting repeats in and noone queried me ,i even had the cheek and went and asked for a double prescription before we came until i found a dr here etc,,they were more than willing.Dont forget to have regualr blood pressure checks if you do bring a good few months worth out,just to be on the safe side.
I have enquired about the snip for Gary(bless him ,not impressed) it costs about $500 here so well worth going nhs before you leave,theres no need for the pill then.
