Oak furniture

Reading some posts about treatment of wood furniture. Do we need to treat here to prevent hefty costs at other end. Table is about a year old but will be over two when we get there.

Thanks sharon xx

If it has been processed - ie in a factory and is not reclaimed or antique wood - i think you will be fine - we brought over a mixture of furniture - the newer factory made wooden items went through absolutely fine - our reclaimed english dresser and elm table - required treatment - which we had previously carried out prior to the container leaving dock.

Hi Lisa - I found your post in this thread quite useful, however what treatment did your items require? Rough cost (if you don't mind me asking!)? Most of what we would like to take will probably require treating (chest of drawers, oak bureau, coffee table and somea couple of chairs).

We've also got a couple of expensive leather sofas. I note that there appears to be a mix of ideas about these sorts of items - I think that my main surprise is that they are actually allowed, so as the leather will have been treated during the manufacturing process, I could 'probaby' assume that we will be able to take those aswell.

Curiously

Nick.
