Oh My God there is no hope for him he rides a triumph.
Yeah you can ship them over but there is gonna be a cost ie import tax and fees also he might have to get it set up to oz standards dont know wot they would be on a triumph but i looked into shipping my honda blackbird out and found that i would have to alter the exhaust system to import it in something to do with emmisions and found out abut the tax costs and thought it was easer to sell it and by new one when i got here. but after seeing how the ozzies drive i am staying in my car its safer (and i never thought i would be without a bike after having one for 12 years).
Also it makes me cringe when you see the riders hurtle past you on blades and yams just wearing shorts and a vest with a pair of flip flops on and a helmet, just the thought alone now makes me feel sick if they come off wearing that stuff.

My cousin used to ride his R6 with the thinnist 3/4 pants you have ever on the motorways and stuff when he was home on leave and coming up to see us I used to go mad at him, so did Glyn... Glyn loves his Triumph (British and proud) he is leaving his Bandit behind for his little boy (only 8, who will be in the Uk with Glyn's ex-wife) but he always promised him the bike so not sure if he will or sell it and buy him one when he is older, but I know Glyn would be gutted if he could not take the Triumph... where do you start to look for costs and exhaust conversions???

Makes me cringe seeing people riding without leathers over here, having dropped a couple of bikes before now shredded good quality leathers in the process, and still have a painful case of road rash, the idea of doing 100m on tarmac shorts and t-shirt is painful just to think about!!
What year Blackbird was it, the newer ones have catalytic converters in the exhaust system.... its an academic question really because Ive already decided to give up my bike, I figure that dragging my family to the other side of the world and getting killed on a bike would be more than a little unfair on them.
Peggy Peggy Peggy...... what do you mean by your comment about Triumphs. I admit my Daytona 955 wasn't the quickest but did it look good and Sharon knew when to put the kettle on when I was three or four streets away.
I had a stay in a hospital in Swindon and a poor (stupid) lad was in after he came off wearing just a t-shirt, shorts and trainers. I won't go into the details but there wasn't much left of his ankle.
I'm still going to get a bike when we get over, can't get it out of my blood

One of my friends moved to NZ and he ended up selling his busa (I think he realised that yes it was pig ugly) but the cost of doing it and how it needed to be prepared just wasn't worth the hassle.
My advice......Sell it and buy a Triumph 675 when he gets over there, at 6ft 4in I'm a little big but I would love one.
Yeah right Mike, your gona get another bike, dont think so, did you think I wouldn't see this post, think again, spotted it. 2 Bikes written off, a third and you'll probably kill yourself so don't think so, having lost half of his inner thigh on the first, lucky not to loose his leg and he still wants another one, don't think so, he did look good in his leathers though!!!! I do like bikes but I think him upstairs is trying to tell you something Mike.
Your loving wife
