Scotch eggs

I know this sounds silly, but I've been craving a scotch egg for over a week now and haven't been able to find any. Has anyone had one since they've been here and if so do they taste the same. LOL

G'day

I buy scotch eggs from our local Woolworths and they're very good - much better than the one's in Coles.

i am no gordon ramsey, but i think you boil an egg, let it cool, surround it in sausage meat, forming a ball, then roll it in breadcrumbs, shallow fry it turning occassionally.i could be wrong, matt.

Hi Monty

If you are a purist and can spare the time, Saint Delia's recipe will not go wrong:

Scotch Eggs with Fresh Herbs from Delia Online

Personally I'd leave out some of the fiddlier steps she suggests.

Cheers

Gill

All three of my local supermarkets have them, right next door to the scotch eggs. As I said earlier, the one in Woolies are better.

Surely the supermarkets near you stock such essentials.

Now I wasn't a big pork pie fan in the UK but I must say I'm quite partial to a David Jones pork pie!
