Smile uk kiddy carseats in oz

have read that uk carseat may not be up to the same saftey group as oz seats and so if we have an accident involving a uk seat we will have problems with insurance,, can anyone help? should we leave in uk and buy when we arrive or are they okay to bring across??? my kids are 5 and 8

We were told the seat must carry an australian kite mark to be valid in an insurance claim ,lots of the seats here a little different in they have anchor points to fasten to.I thought price wise they are pretty cheap so id buy one here,

Cals right, they have a strap than must be anchored into the floor of the boot/hatchback etc. We bought one here but found that they dont really have the nice options of reclining etc which my britax had we paid $120 for a motherschoice brand in KMart (for a 1 year old).

Also... what about booster seats?.... at the mo they have to be taller than 140cms or somesuch or over 11yrs? in the UK to come out of one... is that right someone please say if i am wrong..... anyway, are the booster seats the same as the UK or is it best to get new ones again?
