Overall costs

To all,

To those who are there or are nearly there do you have an approx. amount of what it all costs. We are planning in about 18months so we have some saved but would like to aim for something.
So include everything flights, visa, setting up costs etc.

We are going in June, so far it has cost £1500 Visas, £600 to ship only 8 boxes of personal items over, £2000 flights ( there are 5 of us ) and un-countable cost of mental stress and worry ! But hopefully worth it. Try to get your flights through the Oz govornment as they allow cheaper flight packages when you get residency and double baggage allowance.

Hi, you probably need more than you think. So far our costs are:

TRA £ 416 (Had to do it twice, failed first one)
Visa £820
Visa Agency £ few thousand, need to ask husband.
Flights £1730 (2 adults, 2 kids)
Holiday Accommodation for 3 weeks £825
Shipping with 20 foot container £3250
Marine Insurance £160.

For a long term rental you need a bond and a few weeks rent which comes to about £900.
Money to buy new cars etc.

My god it looks frightening when you see it as a list!

Remember though that some of these cost are at the very beginning so you don't have to pay them out all at once.

Hiya for everything including all fees,extra medical for me and agent costs ,not forgettin flights with singapore air (2adults 2 kids) there wasnt much change from 5,000gbp ,,and now we are here it was the best 5grand ever spent ,,
