      Container Time

Does anyone know how long it takes to send a container from the UK (Glasgow) to Perth(WA). I can't find the info anywhere! Will they delivery furtherdown the coast to Rockingham? :?

Hiya Tim.. John Mason at www.johnmason.com will give a realistic quote. Most companies include transportation up to 30 miles radius of the port of arrival. Everything is negotiable though, isn't it :!:

On thing to check is if your departure port can do the fumigation prior to shipment. If they can this will save you at least 48 hours in Oz. It won't cause any delay in the departure as they are able to pop it on the ship once sprayed....its also cheaper than in Oz.

Insurance - check the cover they offer is not just total loss cover, but also includes damage.

Transit times: Should be 6-8 weeks max. I know London - Adelaide is around 39 days.

Another thing to remember is the clearance time once docked.
Cargo unloading, quarantine, customs to delivery can take up to 4 weeks depending on how busy the port is at the time. The wait is not a pleasent time with 2 kids and no toys!!!!!
