Hi, I am planning to move to Melbourne within the next few weeks. I would like to know if you can by multi region/region free dvd players quite easily and cheaply in Australia. I don't care about brand - I paid under £40 here in the UK.
Multi region DVD players are readily available but they are much easier to obtain here in the UK. Why not take your UK player with you? All you need to do is change the power plug to an Australian one or use a travel adapter. Bear in mind that it is very difficult to get a TV with a SCART socket on it so I used to use the S-Video output of mine.
I am only taking 2 suitcases with my clothes and basics, I am going via America which means I can take a lot more with me and carting over a dvd player is not really practical - I'd rather buy what I need out there.
