I agree with Quoll. It would be worth contacting one of the agents she suggested (or another reputable one with experience in medical).
Everyone's experiences are going to be different and it would make sense to get proper advice from an agent to see where you stand.

I'm sure I read somewhere (but cannot remember where, unfortunately), that the 'cost to Australia' thing has been revised (I was reading something in relation to prospective migrants with HIV who at one time wouldn't even be granted a temporary sponsored visa). Sorry I can't remember where.
One of the agents Quoll suggested would be a good starting point, I'd agree.
Good luck.

Thank you both - good news as I have received a personal response from Sharon Caris, Executive Director of the Haemophilia Society Australia, who although is on leave, has emailed to advise that she will be forwarding some info to help us, on her return.
Fingers crossed it might not be such a wild dream!!!
By the way has anyone used Katie Malyon??? Recommended to us migration lawyer in Sydney????
Thanks

Thanks for all the responses I have contacted Peter Bollard who pointed me towards a case which I had already located on the internet from 2005 of refusal not sure if he has any specific experience in this area unfortunately. I am awaiting response from George Lombard now so maybe this will offer a few more pointers. If we get sponsorship from our friend who has a business there does that mean he is liable to pay all of the medical costs??? Or if we get private health insurance does that go part way to covering??? The problem is the migration experts want the dough first.......and theres no guarantee - all I need is to find out if one family has done it and if any of them have direct experience of this - surely its not that difficult?!!! Another major worry is that some friends of ours here have mentioned that Australia is now heading for a recession??!!! That Tasmania and the South are already partly experiencing a slump due to China's economy slowing up.....any comments on this or daren't I ask????!!!!
