Welcome Balisa!
Welcome Balisa
VERY IMPORTANT NEWS!!! Hi guys I received some communication from Catriona, our main contact at the AASW. I had been asking re: the contents of my application before I send it. As well as the answer she sent me this update on the process: Please note that the AASW is currently experiencing a very high volume of applications due to many applicants wishing to apply for General Skilled Migration before the 1st of July 2012 when the Department of Immigration and Citizenship introduce a new processing arrangement. It has been necessary to implement cut off dates for those wishing to have their assessment complete prior to the 1st of July. All applicants must submit their applications by the 1st of May 2012, those wishing to submit for fast track may submit up to the 14th of May. NO application received after these dates can be guaranteed to be processed in time for the 1st of July deadline. Please note that it is very important that you take care to submit ALL REQUIRED INFORMATION with your application as we can not guarantee processing of incomplete applications in time for your deadline. Please take extra care to ensure you submit information regarding the course curriculum as this is the most commoninformation which we have to follow up with applicants. Please note this is required in addition to the transcript and it must give some detail about the curriculum you have studied in each subject/unit. Yes I wouldn't worry too much though because the AASW prioritise those with job offers-as the employer usually pushes it aswell, over those just applying through the general visa route through agents etc as they don't usually have job offers.
Getting a little impatient now...have any of you heard anything re metropolitan areas jobs....apart from McGyver, who I know has already? I am desperate to hear something soon. I wondered if country locations are a priority over metro areas re placing people. Stuck in limbo...with a list as long as my arm on what needs to be done....if and when a job offer comes through. Just want to get cracking Suzanne
Hi have to say. Haven't heard much on any front really...country or metro...I do know Anne McG was not in the office today (Tuesday). Also, I think quite a few places were having financial year budgets set recently. Hopefully there will be a flurry of activity now... Ever the optimist :D
Fingers crossed.....I'm really keen to get things moving my end, but the sensible side of me is saying hold off until there is a firm offer on the table. Hopefully the call will come soon. Really wanted to get there before Xmas, what with getting kids into school etc. When are you hoping to go? Suzanne
