No I didn't shaddy. Wat would that entail? Would it be a permanent post?
Hi everyone, I also received my offer letter today following a phone chat yesterday morning. Didn't want to post anything until the formal offer came through. Just working through the paperwork just now. Looks as though things are moving now
Where have you been offered, MacGyver? This paperwork will be a real task!
It's Perth Metro Phil. Don't want to be too hard on myself but I think a significant factor was my availability to move at very short notice (already having a visa and AASW assessment etc in place) as they want to fill the position asap. Agree re the paperwork. When I was reading through it I felt relieved and lucky to have much of it in place (as I needed it for my PR visa application). Off the top of my head (for others that may be interested), following the formal offer we then need: AASW assessment - up to 8 weeks to process?? Form 395 (working with children check) - 2-4 weeks to process apparently UK Police certificate (for above) - around 2 weeks to process if I remember correctly 457 visa nomination and application - probably fairly short turn around of a few weeks tops (just a guess though) I'm pretty sure there's more as it seems too straightforward when writing it down???? In terms of a timeline (which I personally wanted to understand for planning etc), I would guess there's still potentially a period of 1-2 months to get everything in order from point of formal offer. I guess during that time discussions would take place as to arrival/start dates etc. Hope that's helpful as I noticed discussions on property etc and what to do with it. My situation is slightly different due to having most paperwork in place already and DCP looking to fill position quickly so hopefully it'll be sooner rather than later
Thanks for that info MacGyver, it's really helpful and well done on the job offer!!
Well done McGyver.... You are so lucky you don't have to go through all the paperwork of registration and visa application. Annielamb ... I don't have a lot of details regarding the out of hours work. Anne just asked if I wanted my details forwarding to that service.
Wow, well done on the job offers. All systems go for you guys then. I hope one is coming my way soon. I am also hoping for the metro areas, hopefully won't be too long a wait. Will have to get that meet up arranged sharpish.....and McGyver, looks like they didn't interview in order of preference Suzanne
Why do they want another UK police check...we did one in January! Unless in case we comitted a crime between then and now!!
Not sure about the police check...however, for the appliation in January I actually sent them my CRB certificate, so this isn't a duplication for me. I have just emailed Catriona, AASW, asking questions about the 'course outlines' element of the AASW registration. Hopefully a swift answer ensues.
live the dream - ha ha maybe they just took pity on me and remembered one of the last interviews they conducted where that guy was crying on skype begging for a job I honestly think a lot of it was to do with availability to move out quickly and already having visa in place etc jojo - the police check was needed for their working with children/background checks. I recently had to get myself one just before my visa grant so I just used that. Maybe the one from January would be ok if it came to it??? On a totally different subject, Anne had mentioned she was on annual leave from Friday for 1 week. I guess that means she's already off now so probs won't be any updates until at least next Friday (when I think she's back).
