OK, so still looking into this but what I discovered so far is:

if you open a bank account with ANZ you can fly with Emirates and get 50kg baggage allowance
      Singapore airlines offer 40kg allowance
I'm checking IOM out at the moment but it states you can get reduced air fares (one way) and excess baggage allowance through them

      Anyone else with information?

Quite a few people seem to recommend the IOM route - please let us know how you get on Jars. X

I paid £2860 for 2 adults 3 kids LHR - SNG - MEL. 1 night stop in Singapore. For me that was the cheapest I could get- I booked as far in advance as possible and got the last few seats at that price. In terms of my searching- they were the cheapest I found by a long way.

We found the cheapest deal to be with Dial a Flight - Singapore Airlines London Heathrow to Perth with only a 2hour stop-over. Cheapest by far and gets you to Perth at 2.30pm, rather than midnight or 6.20am. Definitely worth shopping around!

I contacted IOM who offered Malaysia at £500pp which is blinking good with 40kg of luggage. Have our heart set on Singapore though.....

Booked with Singapore airlines - cost us £300 more but worth the extra according to reviews.

well for us flying from Dublin to Perth, we are going with a one stopper, flying with emirates, stopping in Dubai, plan on spending a 2/3 nights there and then onto Perth, it works out more expensive to stop over for some reason nearly €200 more each, but it is going to be our summer holiday.
