with going on our rickki in nov just wondering as what sort of clothes to take or is there things we should remember to pack as making a list.......
we are taking food with us as chloe is allergic to nuts if it is sealed and we declaire it at customes should this be ok? just a bit worried i know the airline is doing there bit by providing nut free food or making chloe's away from other foods but there is no proof of this, so will take a bag of food prepared for her.
also there are 5 of us what happens if you are under weight with luggage going but on way back well over (bringing gifts back lol) we are on a pr so can go to the max will this be allowed though for the return jorney.
sorry for the woffle hope you understand
thanks for any help
julie

If you have return tickets, most airlines will not give you the double baggage allowance even though you are travelling on a hitherto unused PR visa. Their view is that if you have return tickets then you are not emigrating at the time when you first use the new visas. Airlines charge about £20 per kg for excess baggage so I would recommend caution about this.
With regard to the food for Chloe, please see the following links:
By far the easiest "rule of thumb" with entering Australia is simply to leave all uneaten snack food on the plane and be done with it. When you are tired after a long journey the last thing you need is hassle at Customs in Perth.
Well I have been watching Nothing to Declare and on there as long as you declare the food on the slip that you are given on the aeroplane then you should be able to take Chloes food in to Australia with you. But as Gill says you could leave it on the plane if it's not needed once you have arrived.
Now if I were you I would make sure you some sun cream ready and hats ready, oh and your driving licence if your hiring a car.
With regard to suncream, I buy some when I get to Oz partly because it makes a heck of a mess if it leaks on the plane and partly because the factor 30 etc protection is much higher in the brands available in Oz than in anything I've ever found in the UK assuming that the factor numbers work in the same way in both countries. I don't know whether they do or not, though.
The hats for children in Oz tend to be better-designed for protecting the backs of their necks and behind their ears than the hats here as well.
Plus in Oz you can buy special tee-shirt type garments called razzies. The material they are made of keeps UV rays out. I don't know whether you can get razzies in the UK but they are good.
im gonna send an email to them saying what the problem is as would need at least a couple of days worth for her till we get shopping in as got to be so carefull what she has,and we arrive early hours so nowhere will be open.
yep already got the sun cream and hats shorts and t-shirts and a jumper so will just live in them as dont really want to take to much lol make room for duty free

My Mood:
hi Julie
Just a quick post - in between jobs! - We're also off to Perth in November on a validation trip, so very handy having a nose at your thread!!!!
When are you going out and for how long? We're staying near Joondalup for a fortnight.
Talking of Duty Free - you will not be able to buy booze in the Duty Free shop here and take it into Aus. They have brought this new rule in - nothing over 50 whatever they are called - can be taken into the country in hand luggage. So basically, they want you to spend your money over there.
Once you have landed in Oz, you can buy your booze in their duty free before clearing customs. And of course, you can buy it on your way out of the country. We always buy our in Singapore or Bangkok (and ciggies) as it is always far cheaper than either Heathrow or Sydney.
Regarding food - I always take chocolate and always declare it. The reason being is that because it has been declared that you have food, they send you to the quarantine desk, where a nice man or lady usually just says 'oh chocolate, that's alright' have a little chat and send you on your way. Now the reason I do this, is because by going through quarantine, you don't have to join the queue to have your bags x-rayed.
