when should I put in our visa application?

Hi
I have recently had a baby and am currently on maternity leave from my job when I return to work I am handing in my notice so I can take a year out with her and nursery fees are ridiculous!!!! I have been a trainer for 8 years and thought if I put my visa in now I could put that I am a customer service trainer if they accept our application is it true that it would stay on our records for 2 years??? Or would I have to let them know of any change of career between my application and us actually going?

I am retraining into childcare so that I can come a child minder in the mean time but as this will be a new role with little experience I thought putting a trainer would be better???

if no one knows I will speak to Go Matilda which seems to be highly reccommended on here!!!! love this site!!! I am getting very excited reading everyones posts ... the two years is going to drag!!!!!! I need to win the lottery!

Hi - first of all massive congrats on the birth of your baby!!!!

I'm not sure if you would have to re-apply completely or anything but i think that you would def have to tell them about a change in career if you apply now - my hubby has just changed jobs and he had to tell them everything.

I hopes that this help a little bit!!!!

I don't know about other jobs, but I know in nursing you have to have worked at least 20 hours a week in the last 12 months in your particular job to qualify for applying for a skilled assessment for PR status.

My ex colleague had wanted to come to WA, but instead had to look for state PR sponshorship because she had only returned to work from Mat leave and had been off work for 12 months. In the end it worked out as she loves working in NSW.

I would check if your skill has any regulations regarding hours worked in the last year.
