Well, Matt and I are gradually gathering all our paperwork and documents together, and I'm hoping it won't be too long before we're ready to submit our de facto visa application.
However, we keep getting writers block when it comes to our relationship statements!
I guess it's best to put in as many details as we can, but how many pages long should it be? Does anyone have any tips as to the structure? It's probably one of the easier parts of the application since we obviously have all the details, but I'm struggling to get started and could use some direction if anyone can help!
Evening Livy we both did a statement each for my applications and betweeen us we had written out 6 pages between us. But 2 side we be enough 4 pages was mine due to my handwriting my other half did it in two. As in the sturcture of the content if i remeber correctly it say on the websute what you need to put in the statement so we did every point at each staged and headed it up.
I know the feeling Livy i had to have my other check every thing just in case i missed something thank god for emails as we lived opposite ends of the world
i really struggled writing mine but once i got stuck in i found myself rambling on! mine is informal but states all the info required (hopefully) goes along the lines of (based on the advice from PIO members)
How you met
How you met each others parents, family and friends
What you like to do together as a couple - mention being invited to weddings/parties etc as a couple
When you decided to get more serious i.e. move in together
Any struggles you may have had to overcome together
How you support each other emotionally and financially - i.e how you divide household bills
Any other major events you feel have been an important part of your relationship
Someone advised me to always mention parter not boyfriend etc and talk about how you are basically husband and wife but without the wedding which will probably come across in the statement anyway
Mine is 2 full pages in size 10 font we have detailed the same events etc.
