Can we go out to play?

Good evening to to you

We fly out to Oz in October with Singapore Airlines and we will be will have about 12hrs to kill at Singapore Airport until we get on our connecting flight to Sydney. Does anyone Know if we will be able to leave the airport to have a look around Singapore?

i have heard that you can go out on a free tour.
its organised by the singapore authorities and tourism board to promote singapore in the hope you'll go back for a holiday.
i also heard there is a huge swimming pool at the airport.

We hadabout 4 hours there and found the upstairs sunflowr garden an ideal place for kids to run off abit of steam,dont forget to put swimmers in your hand luggage if you fancy a dip in the pool.

We also stop at Singapore last time we used the pool and we will again this time, although it is open air so as long as it's not tipping it down. Also has a bar for snacks etc. at the pool and you can take a shower there. So well worth it!

we had 12 hours too on our way to Oz, we had a huge pizza and beer at this little cafe thing, shopped for a bit, sat in the gardens and then booked one of the transit hotel rooms for 8 hours and had a sleep and a shower, it was like starting again onthe flight, would definately recommend it.

I heard Changi airport is a bit of a way out and I would be terrified of missing our flight (but then I tend to worry about things un-necessarily!). As airports go it's pretty huge and there are tons of things to do with all the shops, pool, gardens, cinema and stuff.
