Hi, we are finally here. It was so tough saying goodbye to everyone but we did it. It's been quite a hard month trying to get settled and find a house etc...but it's the job thing I am a little worried about. My hubby is a plumber and everyone always says we will be fine. We are based in Brisbane at the mo but heading for Sunshine Coast. We have been calling around the local firms but nothing??? I am a little confused as I thought Plumbers were in demand...any ideas?

Welcome to Oz. Keep trying with the jobs it can be hard getting a foot in the door but once you have employment all the other job offers come flooding in. Could your OH offer to work a few days on trial just to get a foot in?
Thanks for replying guys. That is an idea about doing a trial we could def suggest it. It is frustrating though. Whenever anybody asks what he does and he tells them they always know somebody who needs a plumber but nothing ever comes of it! Then when you start looking and theres nothing out there it doesn't make you feel very secure. We haven't met any other 'poms' yet either...feeling a little homesick!
