Sooooo frustrated, advice please!!

Hi all

I met with a migration company in Feb this year, in march i completed all the paper work and the company took payment (just over £2000). Since march the company have prepared and sent references out to me for my previous and existing employer to complete.

Nothing else has been completed by the migration company, and after several calls nobody has got back to me to update me on the progress. Is this standard procedure, over 3 months to fill a few forms in? I'm really getting frustrated with no response and a slow service.

Is this normal???

Err even in any kid of customer service I would not be happy with that kind of non service!!! We're with Concept Australia and are paying in 3 installments, I think a lot of agencies have an installment policy.
How did you pay? if you paid on credit card you may be able to get the credit card company to act on your behalf and kick their butts? We've done this before and it works.

Hi

Have you not started your skills assessment? The first thing our agent did was to get us through these.

Hi Karen

I met with an agent and they advised me that i would qualify under a 495 visa, im a further education teacher so they insisted i needed a skills assessment. I completed an application form and sent it back, they sent me a series of references that had to be completed by my employer, ive done that and sent it back. All that in over 3 months!!

Most annoying thing is that they dont return my calls. I'm seriously thinking about using another company.

Hi

You must be tearing your hair out by now. I would definately try and off load them. You could report them to MARA to see if you can get any of your payment back. We used Thinking Australia and they take the payment in 3 stages.

Hi Sarah, I definately don't think it sounds normal... We also paid in 3 instalments to our agent and , every agent we contacted before we decided on ours also charged in instalments. We did the skills assessment first too, and once we passed that the actual application was submitted online. From the time of our initial meeting to lodging the skills assessment took 2 months and thats only because it took us a bit longer to get all of the documents together, otherwise probably would have been less than a month. We got the results back and then our application was lodged online within a week and we're now waiting for a case officer. You should definately get on their case and demand an explanation of whats going on and contacting your credit card company sounds like good advice to me. There's loads of really experienced people on this site who I'm sure will be able to give you lots of advice and I'm sure they'll be along soon,

Good luck and hang in there x
