Calm down, calm down, LOL

Yes it has been done lots of times, very routine and common practice

at the top of the page there is a button called search, if you put in pets or similar you will find posts about how to go about shipping your beloved pet to Oz

Good luck with the rest of the process

Hi there. No worries about taking a dog to Australia. We brought 2 over with us and they have settled really well in fact they were OK the next day! Neither had ever been in kennels before . I was really worried about them but there was no need. As for living over here they have a great time walks on the beach and sun bathing in the garden.
We used Pinehawk which is based near Newmarket. Andy is a diamond . What he dosent know about shipping animals is not worth knowing. He treated the boys as his own as they had to stay with him for a few weeks until we moved. Even phoned Melbourne up to check that they got there OK. We had quotes from some of the others but they may have been a little cheaper but Andy and his wife made me feel more confident about shipping the boys the other side of the world and that they would be fine.
Sorted all the paperwork out and told us who we needed to get what from whom. I have to say the only problem we had was with the Vets in the UK . They didnt know what to do as they hadn't had any animals going to Australia . Any worries give Andy a ring on 01223 290249. Our friends have just brought their 2 Labradors over and they were really pleased . Boys arrived safely and in good condition.
Best of Luck with the move.
Sally

Phew!

Many thanks for that.
So pleased as he is only 2 and I can't imagine leaving him behind,
All i have got to do now is try and get him from chasing spiders and other bugs which seems this summer, to be his favourite pass time in the garden!
As I'm asking?????
What do you think?
Perth? Bribane? or Adelaide?
We have friends in all 3, my hubby's company have offices in all 3 BUT we do like hot weather ??

Im in the same dilema as you we have already sent off my husbands skills assessement and we are off next year as soon as the visa comes through. We also have two dogs Mollie who is a 5 year old Boxer and Lucy who is a 9 year old Labrador and my baby( well apart from my kids). My husband doesn't want to take them with us one because of the expence and two he doesnt think Lucy will cope with the travelling being that she will be over ten by then.
My friend has offered to have Mollie but not sure if she will when it comes to it, and i have no idea who might look after lucy for us, i cant let her go to a stranger its such a hard decision but i do want to move to Oz 100%. Has anybody else had this problem any comments will be greatly appreciated.

We live in Tasmania and that has a fairly temperate climate it dosent get too hot nor too cold really although today it has been a little chilly and we have snow on the mountain. But I like the seasons as do my husband and son so it suits us really well. I suppose I would live in Adelaide if I had to go any where it does get hot in the Summer though but then so does Perth and Brisbane . So on that I cant help. My boys dont seem to worry about the spiders. and Max was 3 when he came over here. We have since got a Labradoodle who dosent worry about anything much.

thanks

I know it sounds kinda vague....perth/adelaide or bribane.....but we know we don't want sydney or melbourne, for different reasons and we certainly don't want city living or living in an apartment, we have lived in Dubai in the 90's and Hongkong and then came back to london so city living is out. Our friends from Adelaide are currently living in Abu-dhabi and dying for the contract to end and get home, i do like the hot weather so thats a must and I believe melbourne can be alittle like the uk? right? Living by the sea also would be fab, I was bought up over-looking at the sea, in spain and my hubby is a sussex boy and also likes living by the sea, we are currently in Worcestershire! Can't get much further from it!!
I will look into Taz, now you have mentioned it, many thanks.
Not sure what will happen with visa etc, i assume my hubbys company will sort it out as before and I'm happty now I know I can bring Higgins with me, my little wire haired Jack Russell.
Nice to hear from you, thank you
x

No problem. The boys are Jack Russels , father and son. Would not be parted from them. Colin says that they are spoiled rotten ! If you have a look on the website T-change - for your sea change or tree change to Tasmania it tells you quite a lot about Taz. Its great for holidays too.
