cost of a weekly shop...

my husband and I are moving to Corindi Beach (just north of Coffs) in about 3 months time.... I've been offered work and he is a tiler and is australian so will have no worries picking up where he left off..

just wondered if anyone could give me an idea of their weekly food shop bill.... would be nice to figure out how much we'll have outgoing on top of our mortgage etc

For the 2 of us in Melbourne weekly groceries bill around $160 but that doesn't include alcohol which is another $25 on top for hubby's beer. Some weeks though when we need to replace cleaning products and toiletries the bill has come in over $200.

We keep the bill low by shopping around between 2 or 3 different stores so more driving involved and we don't buy any luxuries either-if I bought all the snacks and bit and pieces I fancied it could easily top $250 per week.

Im in brisbane so not sure if theres much price difference but ,,,approximately i spend each week
woollworths $200-250
butchers $20-40
beer shop $40-60
i do find every 3rd week i have a good week and dont spend half as much as cupboards and freezer is pretty full,
