young adult dependant

hi guys

im 43 and have been offered a job in bisbane hospital im a midwife, my hubby is a builder, we are now desparate to get to oz asap however our problem is my son hes 20 he has two jobs trainee chef and an apprentice carpenter he's been at college three years so theres no way hes going back down that route, we know we have to prove he his dependant on us. anyone else had a similar problem? we want to get a visa without an agent as the cost is something we would want to avoid but some members on this site have recommended a particular agent, im a bit suspicous regarding this as im sure this particulr person is searching this particular site to drum up business so we want to be careful.

my son could not live on his own especially as we are now in a credit crunch, he only earns 150 a week also he is dyslexic so relies on us quite a lot when it comes to paperwork etc. we have thought about gathering clippings from our newspaper to prove just how much rent is also we are also thinking about going to banks and asking them what if any mortgage he could have (im sure on his wage nothing). I would like to think that they will see us as a family unit with us both having skills on the short list and when my sons qualified he too will be of benefit to them.

would love to hear from anyone who has got an older child in on their visa without him applying to go back into education as that just isnt a real option.

#Hi Tracy

Sorry cant answer your questions, but I too am in a similar position to yourselves. I have a 21 yr old daughter who at first said she wasnt coming with us but is now having 2nd thoughts. She works part time but no way earns enough to support herself and relies on us for so much.

I will watch this thread carefully.
