Teaching Skills Assessment!!!!!

Hi, I hope somebody can help me. I am hoping to emigrate in the near future as a teacher. Can anyone help me with what I need to do with my skills assessment with Teaching Australia. I have down loaded the forms from the site but it isn't the clearest. Do I need references from all my employers and what do they need to included in them. Can anyone help. I have a migration agent that my brother is using but she doesn't seem up to speed with this.

Thanks Heather

my wife has just done hers, first of all you need to have done a 4yr degree they do not recognise the 3yr one, get your transcript from your college, certified copies of all your qualifications, copies of marriage, birth certificates and passport, job references from your previous employers she also inc her previous job contracts hope this helps.

Hi Heather,

I got a positive skills assessment from Teaching Australia in November 2007.

On pages 19 & 20 of the Application Form, there is a checklist of all the documents that you need to send. I found this checklist to be the most clear. It takes a few readings to get fully clear, but it is pretty well written and laid out.

I found the most time consuming to be getting my PGCE transcript. It took me 11 weeks to get mine (should have taken not more than 8 weeks according to the university).

You might wish to try the Teaching section of the British Expatriate Community : British Expat Community site. There are some very helpful "been there, mastered that" people on there, who could very well offer you lots of advice should you need it.

Janmal is probably right when he says people need a 4 year degree. It was like this in November 2007 when I applied.

I think applicants also need a PGCE or BEd. I dont think Teaching Australia accept Cert Eds.

Hope the above helps.

Kind Regards,

Gary
