to use an agent or not

hi guys

we are having difficulty in knowing wether to use an agent or not. we are a family of 4 me and my husband both have skills and i have a job offer in brisbane. so the application should be faitly straight forward apart from my son is 20 and i know we have to prove he is dependant on us, im sure most of u would agree that in todays world any young adult would find it difficult to go alone now in this country.

ive also heard that on line applications can be quicker, is this true.

would we stand a better chance if we went with an agent, or as any body been in a similar situation with proving a child as being dependant and applying with out an agent.

i have got my registration to practice as a midwife in oz and i have sent my skills assessment myself, ive looked at the application form on line and it looks ok, so what can a agent do that i can not do myself

would appreciate any advice.

additionally il have been offered a sponsored visa but not keen so have opted for 175 is it possible to apply for both as we want to go asap.

Apply for one.do it on your own. All an agent does is askes you the questions to fill in the paperwork! Save the money!

Hi.

Personal choice really. But in my knowledge the hardest part is the skills assessment so if you've managed that alone then I am sure you can do the rest yourself.

I think I ought to add that we are using an agent simply because I do not trust myself! And I want someone to blame!

Hi there, we posted a similar question ourselves a couple of months ago.
In the end we decided to go it alone, and with the help of everyone on PIO we are doing ok.
We have just had our TRA accessment back, which was a success.
So if you are happy do do it on your own, then go for it.
It will save you some cash as well

Hi Kate

If you look under your avatar there are 3 symbols. One looks like a headless chicken (but it is actually a rosette). If you like what someone has put in a post give it a click. It gives points which gives you extra green boxes and a comment when you hover over your green box.

If you go to your user cp and scroll to the bottom, you can see the reputation you have received.
