hi to all,
we have made a decision to emigrate either oz or nz and doing a bit of research before we begin to pay all the hefty agent fees. we have filled an online assesment for a skilled visa and seem to have enough points to qualify.
but we are on a bit of a downer today as we got told if you havent got qualifications theres no chance of permanent residency. (this was not from an agency but from an english guy we emailed who has been in nz for 6 years)
my partner marc is 37 and from leaving school he did a joiner apprenticeship for several years and then found a job as a glazier. he has 20 or so years glazier/joiner experience but no qualifications. for the past 3 years he has run his own business doing everything from laying floors, fitting kitchens to building houses.
has anyone had no qualifications but plenty of trade experience and been accepted.
are we wasting our time if marc hasnt got qualifications??
any help on this matter will be highly appreciated
thanks

Hi, I think the new Pathway D may help if its agreed. It means people with no formal qualifications may be able to have them recognised and get the relevant visa easier than before.
