OH obsessed with Petrol !!!

Had to post this question as hubby is obsessed with the price of petrol and the cost of living .... that's what living in the UK does to you

So could anyone please help put him out of his misery and help with any of the following.......

How much is petrol in Australia ? What about the cost of council tax ? And whilst we're at it utility bills and oh bread, milk and eggs (good basics) lol !!!

If anyone can help me shut him up I'd appreciate it.

Thank you

Hiya Tracey, Your husband is right to be obsessed with the price of petrol its gone mad!! I think our house sale is not going to well as we are semi-rural and I fill my tank up twice a week !

My husbands brother came over yesterday and he was telling us that 2 people where he worked had been sacked for taking petrol out of the yard where they work, OH also on a job last week and someone had been laid of for the same thing. It's become so precious as its so expensive.

I think you will find it has gone up in Australia now as well, it was so cheap when we were their. You probably use a fair bit of petrol there to as there is quite a distance between places.

I am sure all our friends on here that live in Australia will answer you real soon !

Theres a really good thread on here......somewhere, it lists the cost of living, its very helpful and lets you know what to expect.
Im sorry but Im not sure what it came under, Im sure someone on here can help you tho, either that or just search for "Cost of Living"

Hello there. Petrol costs vary from state to state and occasionally from day to day too! Here in QLD it can vary by as much as 15cents per litre in a week! Currently my local servo is sitting at about $1.52 per litre.

Bread is expensive here. The cheapest loaf I have seen is $1.09 and the dearest about $3.60

Milk about $2 per litre.

Bills - Internet costs me $59.95 per month
Foxtel IQ (sky plus basically!) - $110 per month
Phone $55 per month - we use phone vouchers from OzCall who charge 0.5c per minute to the UK! Much more economical!

Thanks Joanne & Mark hopefully that'll keep him happy for abit I'm sure he'll find something else to stress out about though lol !!!!!

With regards to the bread I'll bring my bread maker with me !!!!

And a therapy group I think would be a good idea, we haven't even appointed an agent yet or filled in any paper work but my god it's a rollercoaster already and I'm sure it'll get worse.

Hi Tracey,
It is a rollercoaster, but an exciting one, it doesn't get worse, it gets more exciting as it gets closer!

1.62 a litre here this weekend for unleaded but it goes up and down like a bl**dy yo yo. It's probably about on a par because we generally drive longer distances. Not going to get any cheaper. Always costs more on pay day!

Rates - ours are about $1600 pa I think (DH pays them), $230 a month for private medical, $60 for each mobile, $58 for ISP, electricity $150 a quarter baseline with more for the winter quarter and we have solar hot water.

Inflation is just starting unfortunately and when the government bring in their emission charges everything is going to get much nastier unfortunately
