How much is petrol in Australia ? What about the cost of council tax ? And whilst we're at it utility bills and oh bread, milk and eggs (good basics) lol !!!

If anyone can help me shut him up I'd appreciate it.

Thank you

I find the cost of living higher in Oz than in the UK...wages are lower for artisans which makes it a very expensive place to live IMO.
Some food is cheaper but the cost of bread and chicken is really expensive...wine and beer is more expensive especially if you fancy a pint in a bar £4 - £5

Just as well my husband has given up the beer for the sake of his football prowess then. Wouldn't want all my wine money being wasted!!!

I don't think it's just the UK, we're obsessed with petrol prices here in oz too. 18 months ago is was $1.18 - now we're paying $1.60

I pay about $4.00 for a loaf of bread. (Melbourne). We like the whoelmeal so it's more expensive. Eggs are $5 a dozen. Milk about $2.80

Not cheap!

Oh and petrol depends which day! Basically about $1.50-1.60
