Red face Help with jobs in oz!!

I work for BT (dont hold that against me) fitting phonelines, running extensions but mainly finding faults and fixing them in the overhead and underground network. I want to move to oz to do the same type of work but not sure what type of visa to apply for. If any other phone engineers have already moved over or are in the process of doing so would be good to hear from you. Thanks for the advice in advance.

Hi manc dan,

I would never hold working for BT against you! My dad has been a BT employee all his life so I stay loyal! Plus, I 've always had good dealings with BT personally.

I can't answer your questions really, but I just wondered if you'd chatted with any migration agents and asked them their advice? They are the so called 'experts' so should be able to help you out. What about looking on the trades list on the immigration website?

Sorry I can't help very much but I hope someone comes along soon with more info.

Good luck,
Kate

Telstra would be the biggest employer in your field, they are the oz equivalent of BT, Optus would be next.

Hi all

Most of Teltra's tech work is subcontracted out, you'll need to identify and chase the lead contracting forms and their sub-subbies.
