Just wanted to ask everyone on here their reasons for choosing Australia over any other country. My reasons are because my mum and dad are so i don't really have a choice and i believe myself that my standard of living will be alot higher than it is here in the Uk and My career prospects will be better as i can't get a job here but i already have one lined up when i leave for Brisbane so i think that has made me wake up and realise that their really are more options out in Australia
Yep have to agree with getdown - heat, warmth & hotness (although not at the mo) also hubby is a aussie citizen so i agreed to give it a go for a few years stuju

Good Morning Brit Lad!
Good question! Our reasons were "fate" . Easy as that! Some might say crazy tho! We always knew that we would move somewhere and I saw an advert for anursing agency offering jobs in Oz. We went for it and the rest, as they say, is history! I have family out here which made the transition a little easier! We had NEVER been here so took a huge gamble but after 2 weeks knew it was so perfect for us!

Hated the way the UK had become, and felt like I had outgrown the country, wanted a better life for my kids, we have been to Oz before and have family over here which made things a little easier, never thought we would be the lucky ones to be living here.
Hi all
For us it was always a childhood dream of my oh's to come to Oz & when we visited in 2006 we both liked what we saw. Also we had become very disillusioned wioth living in the UK and felt marginalised in our own country.....
Also when we visited we loved....
The climate
The beaches
The open spaces
The fact that its English Speaking
The fair go attitude
Less crime/violence (or so it seems to us)
Feeling just that little bit safer when out and about
The freedom for the kids to be able to play out
Thefact that the govt here don't tend to allow people to change the Aussie way of life (kind of if you don't like it here then feel free to leave!)

Mine's easy Im Australian it's my home. My place it holds all, well most of my memories. I honestly feel its a far greater country to raise your children and if you work hard you get rewarded. It's the people the lifestyle the bbqs, warm nights, eating outside, going for coffee and cake after 9pm, cold beer the feel of the place! its not everyones cup of tea but its mine and i love it.
